As requested from several of
you, I'm adding a few more homemade recipes for you to enjoy.
If you've read
this site you are aware that I absolutely love using Olive Oil as a facial
cleanser. I haven't talked much about other oils you may want to use instead.
Today I will give you some information on other oils you can use to nourish your
skin as well as some essential oil additives that give added benefits, and some
recipes. You should know that oil removes oil. This simple fact is why it works
so well as a cleanser and makeup remover. It's a wonderful makeup remover, if
you haven't tried it yet, you should.
Listed here are some wonderful
essential oils you may want to add to your olive oil cleansing routine for added
benefits.
Sandalwood Essential Oil has an astringent effect which helps to
soothe irritated skin. It's also known to reduce wrinkles and
scaring.
Chamomile Powdered Herbal Extract is a anti-inflammatory. This
product will reduce redness and swelling due to rash or other irritants.
Tea
Tree Essential Oil is best for oily or acne prone skin. By the way, yes olive
oil cleanser may be used by persons with acne, it rinses clean and is very
soothing and calming to the skin.
Carrot Seed Essential Oil is great for
aging skin. It will stimulate circulation, repair and tone the skin, it will
increase elasticity and reduce wrinkles and scars. This product is found in
almost all over the counter organic and natural skin care products.
Lavender
Oil is an antibacterial, anti fungal and antiseptic used to soothe and heal
skin. It will also help to clear blemishes and even skin tone.
Peppermint is
used to deeply cleanse the skin, it purifies sluggish skin and has
anti-inflammatory properties. It is good for blackheads.
Geranium is great
for sensitive skin and has wonderful properties for treating
wrinkles.
Strawberry Seed Oil is a good ingredient for anti-aging, dry or
damaged skin.
Coconut Oil is best for dry, itchy, and sensitive skin. It will
not clog pores, it absorbs nicely.
Flax Seed Oil is helpful to soothe eczema,
psoriasis, rosacea, and aging skin. It's the Omega-3 and essential fatty acids
that do the trick. Seriously, is there anything Flax Seed isn't good
for?
Here's the recipe:
Try adding just 1 drop of the essential oil of
your choice to about 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil. Massage gently onto a dry face
for about one minute. Wipe clean with a soft, damp, warm towel and then rinse.
Other oils you may use in place of Olive Oil are Castor Oil, Vegetable Oil, and
Jojoba Oil.
