In the last election the voter turn out was pretty substantial resulting an appointment to the council with Rex Gutierrez resigning follow his felony conviction. The results from the 2010 election indicates that 12,000 ~14,000 votes will be need to contend in this years field. The advent of social media and the direct email campaigns will add to the torrent of voter appeals attacking the incumbents Chuck Buquet, and Sam Spagnolo. The big money candidate looks to be Marc Steinorth, with the most endorsed candidate appearing to be Chuck Buquet . We wil contact the city clerks office for a copy of the Recipient Committee Campaign Statement form 460 and 501 detailing campaign contributors as well as expenditures. We would also encourage the candidates to post these compulsory reports on their respective web sites. Where there are few limits on campaign spending we as an informed electorate will be well served with voluntary disclosure. There are two scheduled campaign candidate forums scheduled with the first at Central Park Community Center Etiwanda Room on the 9th of Oct. and the second hosted by the Alta Loma Riding Club on Tuesday 16 Oct. at Heritage Park. The Chamber of Commerce has hosted this event in the past with some of the same candidates participating.
